Slovenian 664 103 often passes through Croatia, while hauling freight from Slovenia to Hungary and back. We've filmed it just as it is exiting Croatia and crossing the border bridge to Hungary.

This is probably my favorite location in the area as trains need to completely stop, sound their horn and then start. There is also an uphill grade just before the crossing.

Slovenian diesels are a rare sight in Croatia. 664 115 (EMD G26CW) was on freight service for Transagent on diesel-only lines during the main line closure. Having heavy trains rerouted over a diesel line resulted in pure enjoyment of the local railfans and EMD sound lovers. Here, a double header with HŽ Cargo's 2062 110 and 119 had just stopped so that the crews of the two trains could swap, after which proper thrashing started with both engines sanding heavily to pick up the speed.

Due to electrified main line closure, trains are rerouted over a diesel-only line. The train had to stop-and-go at a level crossing because upgrade work is being done on it. The weight of the train mandated some nice thrashing from the locomotives. Locomotives are NRE 2062 301 (ex Israel Railways 601) and SKINE 2062 203. Both different variants of EMD G26CW.

Log Rail occasionally picks up Zacns freight cars from Gospić to deliver them to workshop in Čakovec for repair. Now they also picked up some Faccs wagons from Perković which makes this a quite interesting little train.

The tank cars of this train are loaded with calcite that is being exported from Croatia. The grade on this location is quite steep so the locomotive has to work hard to climb it. The sound is far less thunderous than that of an EMD.

Prvo kočenje milimetarski precizno, znam da to radi svaki dan, ali svejedno svaka čast strojovođi!
Kupio sam knjigu o razvoju te lokomotive.Dakle čudo tehnike,koliko testistaranja,koliko svadje inženjera da li staviti B,B ili C,C pogon😂😂.U Siemensu kada su vidjeli zahtjeve za prvu generaciju lokomotive krajem 90-ih su doslovno umrli od smijeha ali su krenuli i ostvarili su to čudo.U svjetu tehnike što je bila raketa Saturn u svijetu željeznice je Taurus i Vectron lokomotiva.

Love engine sounds, horn not so much. Old horns on G16 had much nicer sound. I think they were Nathan horns.

Enjoyed video a lot! Much more than American videos since there there is always bell ringing and covering up pure engine sound. Only thing I didn’t like is horn. For me old green EMD’s from 60’s had much nicer sounding horns with long cadence aftersound when released. I think there were called Nathan but don’t know model. Other than that those locomotives in video are absolutely beautiful!

En argentina se les compro 4 maquinas de esas y lamentablemente por falata de inversión y mantenimiento de parte de la empresa estatal de TRENES ARGETINOS S.A una qudo desguasada para reparar una q solo se usa para maniobras en los talleres pero por suerte otras dos están en manos de privadas q hoy en dia estan 100% operando y cumpliendo servicio de cargas en el sur de buenos aires
También tiene Ferrosur la 2006 y 2007 remanufacturadas por NREC
